Organizing & Planning

 


This week I've been working on a lot of little things. Nothing huge, but a ton of little things that had been on the to do list for far too long. I feel like I was finally able to gain some traction in the to do list. I'm so grateful for to progress made. It encourages me to keep after the next thing on the list.

Also God provided some practical items that I needed for my time at YWAM that were either on sale or greatly discounted. I'm so grateful to see God working in little things. 

More and more pieces are coming together. I'm starting to really realize how much stuff I have and how many habits I have that I need to either give up or change. It's one of the exciting challenges that makes you rethink a lot of what you really need versus what is unnecessary. I'm excited to go through this process and winnow out things that are not helping me grow in Christ.   

I've also been humbled this week to see more donations come in and from sources that I know it's a true sacrifice. I pray that the Lord rewards your generosity. 

I'm so grateful for each one of you and am excited to continue on this adventure with you.

How Things Turned Out

  For those of you who still follow this blog, the story with that guy is turning out so well.  We continued to date and get to know each other. In December Stewart asked me to marry him and I happily said yes. On March 25th, we got married. I'm so grateful that God gave me this kind and Godly man to walk by my side and for the life I'm getting to live.   My mission is still the same, I'm just doing it on a different mission field than I thought. I'm still seeking to love God and people. I'm still seeking to encourage those around me and be the servant God has called me to be.  Thank you to everyone who has loved and supported me on my missions journey. I'm so thankful for the adventure God gave me and for the people like you who cheered me on. The Adventure Begins!

  Today my YWAM adventure begins! After 3 months of preparation I'm starting my adventure with Jesus. This last week was bittersweet. On Sunday my home church prayed for me and my time at YWAM. I am grateful for the love and support they have poured into me. It made their prayer for me all the sweeter. Then when we got home, we had a sibling birthday bash. Everyone voted they would rather celebrate early than to miss doing it with me. I have the best family. We had lots of presents, two cakes, and a lot of laughter. It was great and a time I will treasure.  Monday through Thursday I was busy running errands, packing, cleaning up my room, and hugging family. It's been an emotional and exciting time. Saying goodbye is tough, but the excitement of this new adventure carries me forward.  I spent Friday driving up to Lindale and spending time with my mom. She has been such a great support on this journey. I'm so thankful that we got to have some special time together before I go

Learning To Hear

  Wow! The Lord is so good. I've been blown away by His love and care for me.  For starters the 4th of July was great. We swam in the lake, ate hot dogs and burgers with a ton of good sides, had a good time of fellowship, and then went to watch fireworks over a lake. They were beautiful. I was mesmerized.  This week we have been learning about hearing the voice of God. Our teacher was a man named Josh Langer. Originally from Germany, he was a very engaging speaker. I found myself amazed by how many different ways God communicates with us and how He invites us to partner with Him in the great commission. We looked at things that hinder us from hearing the voice of God and what our heart posture should be in approaching God. It was amazing how he brought truths to light that I knew already, but had become buried.
